GoTime Happy Hour Spotlight: Jelly Bar

Kate OpatzOur favorite foodie Kate Opatz takes us along for the ride on her dining adventures:

Jelly Bar is wonderfully dark.  Dark enough, even, to forget how dismal it is outside. It’s separated from Long Provincial restaurant (the new-ish sister restaurant of Tamarind Tree) by a couple of stairs and a glowing tank of jellyfish.

fish tankHappy hour happens daily here, from 4-6.  On Sunday through Thursday it repeats from 10-midnight and on weekends it’s 11-2 am.  To eat a full dinner from the extensive happy hour food menu would be an easy task.  There are spring rolls and noodle soup, chicken wings and a banana blossom salad with soft-shell crab.  Prices vary but are uniformly reasonable.

And the drinks, you ask?  Well, there are deals on those, too.  Any drink made with Stoli, Jack Daniels, or Bacardi is $4.  The wide-ranging house cocktail list isn’t discounted during happy hour, but considering the food prices, you might be able to splurge.
