GoTime Event of the Week: Feeling Philanthropic??
I couldn’t in good conscience name just any old event as this weeks “GoTime Event of the Week”, with SO MANY awesome events that support such fantastic causes going on this weekend! I hereby deem this weekend “Seattle’s Weekend of Philanthropy”, making our GoTime Event of the Week a weekend full of good fun and goodwill. Support the cause that calls to you and hop on the good karma train!
Kick off your weekend at the Hi-Life Pancake Benefit Feed. From 8:30am to 10:30am this Saturday The Hi-Life will be serving an abbreviated menu of Buttermilk and Blueberry Pancakes as well as bacon & eggs, with all food sale proceeds donated to Seattle’s Bravest, “a local organization that provides care for fallen firefighters and their families.”
Following the Pancake breakfast jet over to Qwest Field to cheer on Seattle’s breast cancer survivors at Race For the Cure. At 10:30am The Survivor Parade and Closing Ceremonies begin. “Enjoy the Parade of Pink, where survivors lead the way to the Closing Ceremony at the main stage area.” Complete with their first ever Memorial Dove Release. This event is kid friendly and complete with entertainment all morning long, check out the Race Details for more information!
Another early morning kick off for a cause is Girls on the Run in Magnuson Park! 100% of Race Proceeds support Girls on the Run whose sole mission is to “use the power of running to educate and prepare preteen girls for a lifetime of self-respect and healthy living”… how awesome is that!? Check out the video and come cheer on these little ladies who have worked hard all spring preparing for this big day!
Finally take your good deed filled day into the night with these evening events that support some causes worth caring about!
KEXP will be broadcasting live at Sunset Tavern where they’ll be hosting Audioasis, a benefit show featuring: Wow & Flutter, Katherine Hepburn’s Voice, Man Plus, Team Gina, and Hoqium! Net proceeds benefit Pride Foundation: “A foundation that connects and strengthens Northwest nonprofits, leaders, and students united in creating lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender equality.”
If Animal Rights are more up your benefit alley check out Spice Box Theater at Heaven Nightclub: ” A cabaret show produced by Skin Deep Dance. These hot moves will have you wishing the show would go on and on, and even better, it’s a benefit for Northwest Animal Rights Network and features Barrio Flamenco, Archana Kumar, Skin Deep, Imei, Elisa Gamal, Latin Spice, Carolyn Stirling, and Aegea.
