GoTime Goodbyes: Ama Ama and Via Verde Close Their Doors
This week marks your last chance to get an oyster fix from West Seattle’s own Oyster Bar & Grill: Ama Ama. According to the Ama Ama facebook page, they’d love for you to “Come on in and enjoy Chef Jared Wentworth’s amazing food, have a few dozen oysters, some wonderful adult beverages and say goodbye to our fantastic staff! You have until Saturday – so make your reservations now!” Consider it your final opportunity to put a couple extra pennies in the Ama Ama pocket while getting some great grub in the meantime.
With all fingers seemingly pointed at the economy, Ama Ama’s not the only restaurant to announce its
closure recently. Ballard’s Via Verde made an announcement of its own last Friday in the form of an eviction notice posted on the unsuspecting Italian restaurant’s door. Having only been in the space for a year or so, it’s hard to imagine Via Verde was given a fair chance, but if nothing else, hopefully these closures encourage you to BUY LOCAL. We can’t cry foul when these fabulous brick and mortars close their doors, if we aren’t dining there regularly enough to ensure they stick around.
Ama Ama Oyster Bar & Grill and Via Verde – your delicousness will be missed.
